Following the successful operation of the Thessaly Evros Pass action for the year 2024, the platform is set to reopen for the year 2025 on Wednesday 23 July.
This is the action implemented in the cooperation of the Ministries of National Economy and Economics, Home Affairs, Tourism, Digital Governance and Climate Crisis and Civil Protection with the aim of financially supporting tourism activity in the areas of Thessaly, affected by the floods of September 20 and 20.
The program applies to three destinations (Thessaloniki A, Thessaly B and Evros) and three times in the year (1: July – August ’25, 2: September – October ’25, 3: November – December ΄25). Beneficiaries selected will receive intangible digital cards that can use in the above areas for accommodation, catering (food) and local commutes.
In particular, they are going to be issued:
- 4.164 EUR 150 cards for Thessaly A (Phase 1: 1,388, Phase 2: 1,388, Phase 3: 1,000)
- 4.164 EUR 150 cards for Thessaly B (Phase 1: 1,388, Phase 2: 1,388, Phase 3: 1,000) and
- 3,000 EUR 200 cards for Evros (Phase 1: 1,000, Phase 2: 1,000, Phase 3: 1,000).
Action destinations relate to the following areas:
- Thessaloniki A: Municipality of South Pelion, Municipality of Zagora Mouresi, Municipality of Volos
- Thessaloniki B: Municipality of Lake Plastira, Municipality of Agia, Municipality of Tempe, Municipality
- Evros: Municipality of Soufli, Municipality of Feres of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis
The platform vouchers.gov.gr will remain open for applications from Wednesday 23 July until Friday, July 25, 2025.
The final beneficiaries will be highlighted by electronic draw after the end of applications. The results will be posted on the program website.
For 2025, the action has a total budget of approximately € 2 million and will be given a total of 11,328 cards, with the aim of stimulating tourism and the local economy of the affected areas for the coming months.
Thessaly Evros Pass for the year of implementation 2025 (similarly with the year 2024) has no income criteria. They can apply for those who:
- They are tax residents of Greece, based on the tax return of 2023.
- Have not stated the main residence in the destinations included in the action.
- They are not beneficiaries of DBA social tourism for the period 2024-2025 or will be selected for the period 2025-2026, nor do they receive a corresponding provision from another body for the same periods.
Note: Permanent residents of the areas included in the action are excluded from the process.
Application process
The application is very simple and is done electronically through vouchers.gov.gr with TAXISNET codes. Interested parties should:
- Complete contact information (email address and mobile phone), which will then confirm,
- Choose destination and time phase,
- They declare responsibly that they meet the criteria of participation.
On the contact information, as long as they are registered in the National Communication Register (EMP), no further confirmation is needed.
Alternatively, applications can also be made through KEP.
Those selected by the draw will receive intangible digital card before the start of the period they were drawn. It is activated through instructions sent by the Payment Service Provider.
The use of the card requires smartphone with NFC technology.
It is noted that it is not possible to cancel or correct the application after the expiry of the deadline.
