A visit to the Port Authority of Patras followed and a meeting with Managing Director Panagiotis Anastassopoulos, where the prospects for upgrading the port were discussed, both as a portal of product entry and infrastructure, with a potential for cruise tourism. The minister emphasized that Patras, as a historic city with cultural land and geographical strategic location, could turn into a high standard tourist hub, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Productive Bodies of the region.
He had a meeting in the Patras Industrial Area with the Patras Business Association (SEVIPA). He heard the issues facing the productive forces in the area, discussed the possibilities of funding through the new development law, and the political commitment to upgrade the infrastructure of the VIP with projects totaling 10m euros was confirmed. “The productive transformation starts from here, from the region.
