The foot stuck in the throttle of his car had a 33 -year -old running on Thursday night (21.08.2025) on the highway Athens – Lamiawhich was arrested by the authorities, after his converter showed almost 200 km / h!
According to lamianow.gr, the 33 -year -old driver was running at a dizzying speed, ignoring road safety rules. The vehicle he was driving was parked at the Tolls of Thebes in Athens – Lamia, for security reasons, where the driver’s arrest was followed in the context of the self.
In the context of the implementation of the new, stricter road traffic code aimed at preventing and reducing traffic accidents, the case was handled by Pathy Boeotia Motorway Commander.
An experienced officer, as well as a man and a female police officer, was with him, ensuring the safe immobilization of the vehicle.
Based on the new, stricter road traffic code, a fine of 700 euros was imposed, as well as a diploma removal.
Speeding
It is recalled that according to the new CCC if the driver exceeds the speed limit of over 50 km/h, he is fined € 700 and is deducted from a driver – diploma – for 60 days.
In the 1st relapse, the fine is increased to € 1,000 and the diploma is removed for 180 days. In the 2nd relapse, the fine reaches € 2,000 and the removal of a diploma reaches 1 year.
If the driver moves at a speed of over 200 km/h or participates in illegal races, the fine is 2,000 € and the diploma is removed for 1 year.
The first recurrence results in a fine of 4,000 € and 2 years deduction, while the 2nd reaches 8,000 € and 4 years without a diploma.
