Further drop in domestic price wholesale powerduring the first fortnight of May.
Of the 89 euros per megawatt of April, the price is now just above 80 euros. The decline came as a result of increased RES production in combination with low seasonal demand. The estimate, however, is that electricity prices will start rising to summer, depending on the weather and temperature in the country.
Indeed, this has already begun to appear in recent days, as they have again appeared on the wholesale market prices of over 100 euros.
It remains to be seen what will be the effect on retail invoices that consumers will be required to pay in June. The month we are going through the floating products followed a reverse path to wholesale, as we had increases. Thus, all three scenarios are not excluded, that is, to fall, to stay steadily or even increase again. However, most of their chances are being stabilized at the moment.
Suppliers’ decisions affect a number of factors in addition to wholesale: each company makes its commercial planning for the summer, while several players seek to turn consumers to blue fixed invoices, keeping relatively high. Thus, they seek to get a higher market share by offering the most competitive prices in blue.
Finally, let us remind you that in May the prices in green household start at 12.2 minutes per kilowatt hour, with the average invoice close to 14 minutes.
