This autumn is expected to have different features than what we are used to, according to the first seasonal estimates of the meteorological models. Trends show a warmer climate and limited rainfall, with a particular impact on eastern and southern Greece.
Fewer rains – milder phenomena
According to forecasts, rainfall will be reduced, mainly in the eastern and southern country. At the same time, it is estimated that bad weather will be less and milder in intensity than in previous autumn.
Warmer seas and higher temperatures
The temperature is projected to range about a degree above the normal levels for the season. Of particular importance is the maintenance of seas at higher temperatures than normal, evolving the exhaust mechanism. This may create the conditions for more severely barometrically low during the period.
The remarks of George Tsatrafyllia
Posting on Facebook, meteorologist George Tsatrafyllias notes that meteorological models converge toward a hotter and drier autumn. As he points out, maintaining temperatures at higher levels and warmer seas are factors that can affect the intensity of systems that will affect our country.
