“The US will not acquire Greenland,” Danish Prime Minister clarifies

‘The USA will not take control to Greenland“Danish Prime Minister Methe Fredericks, who arrived today (02/04/2025), said in Nuuk for talks with the new government.

Meet Fredericken began her three -day trip less than a week after a visit to the area by US Vice President Jay Di Vance, who had a cold reception from authorities to Denmark and Greenland.

“I am here to support Greenland at a difficult time,” said the head of the Nuke government of Danuk.
“I will do what I can as Danish prime minister to guarantee that there will be equal relations within the Kingdom of Denmark,” he added.

“Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders,” Fredericksen said.
Earlier and in view of her visit, she said she intends to reinforce Copenhagen’s ties with the island and emphasized the importance of respecting cooperation in the midst of what she described as “very much pressure on Greenland”.

Greenland’s new Prime Minister Yen Freeder Nielsen, who won the parliamentary elections last month and formed a coalition government, welcomed Fredericken’s journey, saying Monday that Denmark remains a “closest ally”.

The new government coalition under Nielsen is expected to officially assume on April 7th.
