US Disease Control and Prevention Centers (CDC) are considering issuing travel recommendation for Chinaas the cases of the chickpea virus in the country grow, as reported by the Bloomberg agency.
“The CDCs are aware of the reported exacerbation (of the cases of the virus) Tsikungunia in China’s Guangdong province and are currently evaluating its size and extent,” a spokesman for the US Audit and Pre -Disease Centers told Bloomberg News.
The chikungunya virus is transmitted from human to human mainly from infected mosquitoes. It causes fever, severe joint pain, muscle aches and headache. Although usually not fatal, a small number of patients may have serious complications or chronic diseases.
