The State Department gave the “green light” for possible sale of defense equipment in Ukraine, worth $ 179 million

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs USA approved the possible sale of foreign military equipment to Ukraine A $ 179.1 million to support the Patriot air defense system and the relevant equipment, the Defense Cooperation and Security and Security Service (DSCA) announced on Friday (29.08.2025).

Ukraine has asked the US equipment and services for the maintenance of Patriot air defense systems, including classified and non -classified spare parts, maintenance support, software updates, system modifications, testing equipment, communication accessories and technical assistance services.

The Agency said the sale would support US foreign policy objectives.

“The proposed sale will improve Ukraine’s ability to face current and future threats, further equipping it to carry out self -defense and regional security missions with a more powerful air defense capacity,” he said.

The agency stressed that the sale would help Ukraine “face current and future threats” and will not change the regional military balance.

The Foreign Ministry also approved possible sales of satellite communications services in Ukraine for $ 150 million and a Patriot sale with a built -in battle administration in Denmark of $ 8.5 billion.

The approvals come after US President Donald Trump’s statements regarding the provision of security guarantees by European nations through ground -based developments, with the US potentially offering air support opportunities.

The Foreign Ministry approved on Thursday the supply of 825 million dollars to Ukraine.
