The risk assessment committee met this morning in view of intense weather expected in areas of Greece.
The Commission was convened by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Giannis Kefalogiannis and the subject of the meeting was The updated emergency report of dangerous weather events (EDEKFs) of the NMS.
According to committee scientists, from today at noon until Wednesday, there will be locally heavy rains and thunderstorms from time to time in most areas of the eastern country.
It is noted that earlier Message of 112 was issued for the Cyclades areawhere from noon until tomorrow morning the phenomena will be particularly intense.
According to the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection in a statement, the Civil Protection Center has contacted Local Authorities, Security Forces, etc., so that all stakeholders are fully informed of the upcoming weather and to be on operational.
Recommendations of Civil Protection in view of severe weather events

* Avoid crossing streams and streams, pedestrian or vehicle during thunderstorms and rainfall, but also for several hours after the end of their event. Particular attention is needed at the road network, where the road intersects with torrents and there is no bridge.
* Avoid rural operations and activities in marine and coastal areas during severe weather (risk of lightning falls).

It is noted that according to the updated emergency report of dangerous weather events (EDEKFs) today issued by the National Meteorological Service (NMS), locally heavy rains and thunderstorms are projected from intervals from noon on Monday (31-03-25).
Specifically, locally heavy rains and thunderstorms are foreseen:
A. In the Cyclades from Monday afternoon (31-03-25) until noon Tuesday (01-04-25). The phenomena will be locally dangerous until the morning of Tuesday (01-04-25).

Z. In the West and Southern Crete from Tuesday nights (01-04-25) to Wednesday morning (02-04-25).
