At the age of 98, Eftichis Bitsakis, one of the most important Greek academics and philosophers, left his last breath.
Born in 1927 in Crete, Eftichis Bitsakis first studied chemistry in Athens and then completed his studies in Paris, where he was proclaimed a doctorate in theoretical physics and philosophy. His academic career was rich, as he taught for many years at the Universities of Paris, while he was elected a regular professor at the University of Ioannina, as well as a theoretical physics lecturer at the University of Athens.
His research interests focused on the philosophy of science, knowledge and philosophical anthropology, publishing many books and collaborating with international scientific journals. Since his school years, he joined the Left, while developing a strong social and political action, and actively participated in the National Resistance.
