Skoda has announced the engine versions of the new Octavia. The third generation of the popular family compact will premiere for the public in March in Geneva and will come to Greece in the spring. Among the available engines, the 1.6 TDI stands out for the “green” GreenLine version, with a 6-speed manual transmission. It produces 110 PS for the occasion and consumes just 3.4 lt/100 km, emitting at the same time 89 g. CO2 per km. Skoda will soon present the top-of-the-line RS as well as a natural gas version.
The range of TSI petrol engines includes four sets, power from 86 to 180 PS. At the base we find the 1.2 with 86 PS and 16.3 kgm. It is combined with a 5-speed manual transmission, showing an average consumption of 5.2 lt/100 km and emissions of 119 g/km.
Next comes the Green tec version of the same engine, with an output of 105 PS (17.8 kgm). It has start/stop and braking energy recovery systems, while it can be ordered with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG. It consumes in a combined cycle 4.9 lt/100 km and emits 114 g into the environment. CO2/km.
