The new Note has no blind spots

“Safety shield” is what Nissan calls the package of systems in the new Note, with the aim of avoiding accidents and facilitating the driver’s manoeuvres. Four cameras – one on each side of the vehicle – offer 360-degree visibility in Nissan’s new SUV. Images are transmitted to the Note’s 5.8-inch center console screen, allowing the driver to see what’s happening around the car. Safety equipment also includes systems for alerting a vehicle in the “blind” spot of the exterior mirrors, inadvertent lane change and detection of people or objects moving towards the car. Similar systems are installed in larger and more expensive models, but this is the first time we see them in a small class car.

The European-spec Note premiered last March in Geneva. It will start manufacturing in the summer at the Sunderland factory, while in Greece it is expected in the autumn. The basic engine is the three-cylinder 1.2 with 80 PS and 11.2 kgm of torque. It consumes in a combined cycle 4.7 lt/100km and emits 109 g. CO2 per km.
