What is her first official duty
The new American ambassador arrives in Athens today Kimberly Guilfoyle, by private flight, as provided for in the protocol.
The first official duty of her diplomatic term is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, when she will present her credentials to the President of the Republic, Konstantinos Tassoulas, in a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.
The stamp of her diplomatic tenure is expected to be given later in the week at the transatlantic energy forum being held in Athens, which will be attended by US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, US Secretary of the Interior Doug Bergham and 24 European energy ministers.
The 6th Conference “Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC), which takes place on November 6 and 7 at Zappeio Megaro, is co-organized by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the US Department of Energy and the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center, marking the strengthening of Europe-US cooperation for a safe, sustainable and affordable energy transition.
It is noted that Mrs. Guilfoyle, known for her close ties to the Trump familyhad been nominated by the American president for her position in Athens in December 2024.
Who is Kimberly Guilfoyle?
Kimberly Guilfoyle was born on March 9, 1969, according to her biography on Wikipedia. Her father was born in Ireland and immigrated to the United States at the age of 20. Her mother, Mercedes, was Puerto Rican and taught special education. He died of leukemia when Guilfoyle was 11 years old.
During law school, she interned at the San Francisco District Attorney’s office. She also modeled and appeared in ad campaigns for local department stores (including Macy’s), and collaborated with Victoria’s Secret for a bridal magazine.
After law school he worked briefly as a prosecutor in San Francisco. She lost her job in 1996 when Terence Hallinan was elected district attorney and fired 14 of the city’s prosecutors. Guilfoyle worked for four years in Los Angeles as an assistant district attorney, handling adult and juvenile cases. He received several awards in the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, including the District Attorney of the Month award.
In 2000, he was rehired by the San Francisco District Attorney’s office, where he was an assistant district attorney from 2000 to 2004. In January 2004, he moved to New York City to host the show ‘Both Sides’ on Court TV, and in February 2006, he joined Fox News.
Among other things, her biography mentions that she was one of the co-hosts of “The Five” on Fox News Channel, a partner of “The O’Reilly Factor” and Hannity. She was also previously a legal analyst/commentator for Fox News and ABC.
He received a lot of attention in 2001 when he successfully prosecuted two defendants whose dogs had mauled a woman to death in San Francisco. She is also the ex-wife of California politician Gavin Newsom, and was the first lady of San Francisco during Newsom’s first two years as mayor of the city.
