The developments around the blackmail case denounced by the New Democracy MP are rapid. Zeta Makriwith the case being brought to justice tomorrow (Monday 8/7).
The journalist was arrested on Saturday following a complaint by the MP and was prosecuted. He was released and is expected to be tried tomorrow, and according to information in his defense, he claims that he had cut an invoice and even displayed application on his cellphone to prove his professional transaction.
This morning, Zeta Makri spoke on SKAI’s “The Decades” show on Sunday morning. As she said, the journalist asked her 15,000 euros in order not to post negative publications for her, and – as she said – after negotiations the amount decreased at 10,000 euros.
“I have never given money,” Ms Makri emphasized, adding that he had first decided not to succumb to the demands. He pointed out that this is a site with influence and resonance, with reports that were “actually provoking discussions”.
The MP explained that because it was a small society, he knew the journalist personally and maintained a good relationship with him, which made her hesitate first. “I swightening until I did. I was waiting for a while to go back, not to continue, not to finally demand the money, ”he said.
