Approval support measures for the affected areas by the fireswhich has been manifested throughout the country from June to the present day, has been the subject of an extraordinary meeting of the Government Government Committee of State Relief, held, via teleconference, today (13.8.2025) chaired by the Deputy Minister of Climate and Civil Protection, responsible for the restoration of the State.
As it became known by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, the Commission, taking into account the existing institutional framework and its previous decisions, as well as the suggestions for the fires of previous years (2023, 2024), decided to take five significant support measures for the fires, Ionian Islands and Central Greece, from the Men of June, July and August 2025.
In detail five meters decided are the following:
1. Housing subscription
Granting mortgage subscription to natural and legal persons for the restoration of affected buildings (repair or reconstruction). In addition, there is a rent or co -habitation subsidy for temporary housing of permanent residents, up to EUR 500, depending on the parameters.
2. Aid to address simple repairs and/or replacement of housekeeping and allowing first living needs
Strengthening households 600 euros per household to meet first needs, with an increase in large families and people with disabilities. Up to EUR 6,000 for replacement or repair of households of the main residence. For a secondary residence, 50% of the amount is paid. 4,500 euros to people who suffered a disability of more than 67%due to injury to fires.
3. State Relief to Businesses and Rural farms
A grant of 70% of the estimated loss, without the application of gradual percentages, with a maximum of EUR 500,000 per beneficiary or per branch (up to two). The grant will be offset by the first help. In addition, the activation of the provisions on farms will take place at the request of the Ministry of Rural Development, in accordance with Law 4797/2021 and the JIT Regulation.
4. Three -year exemption from ENFIA
For affected areas declared in an emergency, it is foreseen by ENFIA for the year of disaster and the next two years, in accordance with the provisions of the new Property Tax Code (Law 5219/2025).
5. Financing to Local Authority
Extraordinary funding of local government organizations is provided to meet first and foremost damage to networks and infrastructure.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to the immediate and substantial support of the affected and the repair of damage, in cooperation with all relevant bodies and local authorities.
