The fashion designer who had dressed the biggest stars of Greece and Hollywood, died at his home, with his beloved housekeeper by his side.

The news of the death was announced by the journalist Natasha Rayou via a post on social media.

She uploaded some photos in which she poses with Dimi Kritsa.

“Goodbye lord…” she wrote in her post.

Dimis Kritsas was born in Athens. His family intended him to study at the Sorbonne with the aim of the diplomatic corps, but fashion won him over. He graduated from the École de Saint Rocque, the Ecole du Louvre and the Academie de Coupe, then worked with Balentiagas and Jacques Fath.

In 1954 he returned to Athens, where he opened the “Maison de Couture Kritsas” on Boukourestiou Street, with many of the elegant Athenians of the time as clients.

In 1965 he made his international debut, starting in Australia and soon after in America, where Elizabeth Arden bought all his work.

In 1970 he created his own “Dimitris Kritsas Incorporated”. In addition to haute couture creations, he has made costumes for cinema and theater in Greece and abroad. His definition of elegance is: “simplicity and personality”.

In Greece, he dressed the greatest actresses of theater and cinema, such as Aliki Vougiouklakis, Elli Lampeti, Jenny Karezi, Voula Zoumboulakis, Rita Myrat, Mary Manolidou, Mary Chronopoulou and his cousin Melina Merkouris in many international films.

He also dressed many international stars such as Romy Snyder, Lana Turner, Hendi Lamarr, Françoise Ardy and Lillian Guice when she received the honorary Oscar.

In New York, where he worked successfully for 25 years, he designed dresses for very big names and titles such as the Princess of Kent of England, Princess Alla Ausberg, Chantal de Lion, Christina Henry Ford, Charlotte Font Niarchos, Barbara Hutton, as well as in Las Vegas for Ann Margrett and Athena Zoe Laskari in Cinema and in her personal life.
