The excellent cooperation of the State and the Church was confirmed at the Mitsotakis – Hieronymus meeting

The prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met on Monday morning (8/9) with Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymosat the Maximos Mansion in order to discuss the state and church relations as well as in the challenges of the new period.

At the start of the meeting, Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of steady cooperation, noting: “I will welcome you again with great joy and feelings of love. We are, in the beginning, of both the political and the ecclesiastical year, so it is again an opportunity to discuss the pending issues we have and to re -confirm, I believe, the excellent level of cooperation between the State and the Church of Greece.

The prime minister also referred to the joint efforts that have been made in previous years, noting: “We have, I think, are taking very important steps, we have solved many issues that come from the past and we are here to deal with, together, as we owe the great challenges of the time. So, again, welcome. ” For his part, Archbishop Hieronymus expressed his satisfaction with communicating with the government, stating: “I thank you very much, because in the weight of many of your problems you find the time, every time we need, to say and cooperate, with great joy.”
