At the heart of Mr Papastavrou’s conversation with the US found developments in energy in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as the Greek delegation’s journey to Houston, during which he had consecutive meetings with US energy companies Chevron, ExxonMobil and Ceniere Energy.

At the same time, the two sides discussed the activity developed by the Intergovernmental Transatlantic Cooperation of Energy (P-TECC) coordinated by the US Ministry of Energy, a member of which Greece is also a member.

Mr Papastavrou addressed the next meeting of the ministers of this intergovernmental cooperation to take place in Athens, an invitation that Mr Wright accepted, with the two ministers identifying the meeting next November.

Tomorrow, Monday, May 12th, Mr. Papastavrou will go to Washington, where he will meet with US Interior Minister and head of the National Energy Council, Mr. Doug Burgum.

He will also hold meetings with the Republican Senator and Member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Mr John Barrasso, second in the Hierarchy of the Republican Party leadership in the Senate, as well as with the member of the Republican House of Representatives.
