In addition to the stable “first place” of the municipality of Athens and Glyfada, the changes identified in the searches were significant rental stores in the urban complex of the capital, as presented by Dimitris Melachrinos, CEO of Spitogatos Group, in the framework of the event of analyst Ilias Papageorgiadis “Greece 2025: Business, Real Estate, Investments” at the Athens Concert Hall.
According to the statistics of searches by Spitogatos users for the rental of commercial properties (shops and warehouses), in 2024 Peristeri and Kallithea rose compared to 2022, while Piraeus, Chalandri and Kifissia fell.
As estimated by Mr. Melachrinos and Papageorgiadis, the most likely reason for this development is the already high prices and the lack of supply of spaces in these areas, which makes investors look for new “markets”.
Warehouses in Attica: Athens, Piraeus and Peristeri
At the same time, the interest in renting warehouses remained stable for the areas of the municipality of Athens and Piraeus, with Peristeri rising to third place in 2024.
In decline are Ilioupoli, Chalandri and Glyfada, which are still interesting for rentals with such uses, probably also from companies specializing in “last mile” transport.
Shops in Thessaloniki: Stability at the top, Thermi on the rise
At the same time that in Thessaloniki the top three remain more or less stable (with the city center, Kalamaria and Evosmos leading in the number of searches) in 2024 we saw an increase in interest in renting shops in Thermi, which as he explained Mr. Melachrinos is also related to the corresponding increase in interest in housing in the area.

Changes in interest in renting warehouses are also significant in the co-capital. In addition to the city center and the area of Echedoros, the increase in searches for Kalamaria and Efkarpia is significant, while in 2024, for the first time, Stavroupoli appeared in the top ten, as another area that attracts interest in finding cheaper warehouses.
