On Friday 20 June 2025 Acropolis Museum It closes its 16 years of operation and by this opportunity invites the Symphony Orchestra of the Department of Music Studies of the NCSR to offer its visitors a music night with classical music works by Greek composers and cinematic music, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music Studies. According to the relevant press release, the multilateral orchestra consists of students and students of the Department, with a common feature being the flawless artistic skill, their passion and their inexhaustible talent.
The concert will take place at 9pm in the courtyard of the museum and admission to the concert is free.
On this day, the museum’s showrooms will be open as every Friday from 9am to 10pm, with a regular ticket. The second floor restaurant will be open until 12 midnight (telephone bookings at 210 9000915).
In addition to the museum’s permanent collections, visitors will have the opportunity to tour with the Museum’s archaeologists at the Allspice – Michael Rakowitz and Ancient Cultures, presented by the Acropolis Museum and NEON, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. Original objects of ancient cultures from the Middle East and the Southeast Mediterranean are intertwined with contemporary art works of internationally recognized Iraqi-American artist Michael Rakowitz, co-existing human relationships and stories about the past, the present and the future. The exhibition highlights the issues of cultural heritage, loss and restoration, survival and creation of culture, through conceptual, moving, obvious political and certainly timely works. Admission to the AllSpice exhibition is free, as are the presentations by archaeologists.
