As noted, this is the first renovation of the school complex from the construction of its first buildings in 1954.

“Mr. Principal, I am very pleased that in a few weeks from now the first bell of the new school year will welcome your high school students in a building that will have been significantly renovated both in classes and in accessibility and in the area of hygiene and to the hygiene, It is co -located in this building block.
The “Marietta Giannakou” program proved to be extremely successful, 431 schools across the country will have been renovated until early September and our intention is not only to continue, but to enhance the funding of this program. Because every school that is renovated offers our children quality building infrastructure, especially when we consider that many of our buildings are old and very damaged.
Also, every external, renovated courtyard allows us to practice this concept of open school. A school, that is, that will be open to the children of the neighborhood and beyond its hours of operation, so that children can come, use facilities, play, play, be far from their mobile screens and do more useful and creative things.
And I am glad that I see here, in this room that has just been renovated, and the interactive boards, which have now been placed in all classes of our public schools, from Elementary to 3rd High School.
We see, therefore, how on the one hand upgrading of building infrastructure and the use of technology allow us to offer our students and our teachers a different educational experience in the context of the “new school” as we envision it.
So, we wish you a good start and we will soon have important announcements about how we want to expand the “Marietta Giannakou” program to many more schools in Greek territory. “
