Tax Statements 2025: Expires deadline – what is true of fines

In the final line the process of submitting this year’s tax returnswith the deadline being Tuesday, July 15th for the majority of taxpayers, who, if they do not fulfill their obligation in time, will be faced with fines.

The financial staff has already made it clear that this year’s tax returns will not be extended, despite repeated appeals by representatives of the accountants, and the imposition of fines will begin immediately after the expiry of the correction.

Professionals in the field, through their clubs and associations, have been pushing for days to extend the deadline until July 31, citing problems and malfunctions observed on the submission platform. They point out that the technical defects of the system and overload, especially in recent days, have significantly made it difficult for the work of accountants and are causing delays. At the same time, they point out that this extension will not cause a fiscal burden, as the date of payment of the first installment of the income tax remains July 31, so state revenue is not affected.

This move comes to facilitate both accountants and taxpayers, reducing pressure, discharging information systems and allowing the process to complete smoothly, as they argue. However, by the Ministry of Finance and AADE the official position remains strict: the deadline will not be transferred, as a stable and unchanged timetable for tax returns has been established. The deadline expires at midnight on Tuesday, July 15 and all indicate that it will be strictly adhered to.

Fines for delays

From July 16 onwards, the late submission of a tax return has an automatic certificate of fine from Taxisnet. Specifically:

  • 100 euros for non -traders
  • 250 euros for businesses with simplistic books
  • 500 euros for businesses with duplicate books

The same scale applies to amending statements, as long as they bring an additional tax of more than 100 euros and shall be made after the deadline.

In addition to the fine, in the event of a tax payable, there is also interest in late payment.

Amending statements made by July 15 do not cause any ratification, even if an additional tax arises. This is provided that the original statement has already been submitted in time.

What is true of doses

Income tax is repaid in 8 monthly, interest -free installments, with the first until July 31 and the last at the end of February 2026.

Those who have not yet submitted their statement are called upon to do so immediately to avoid fines and exploit the discounts. The submission operates without technical problems, but tax technicians face increased workload, making timely working with their customers critical.
