End of time tonight for timely deposit tax returns, with sources from Ministry of Finance to state that there will be no new extension.
According to the same information from the Ministry of Finance, about 6.29 million tax returns have already been submitted, while last year by the end of the deadline, which was on August 31, 6.372 million returns had been submitted.
As a result, today the difference of about 80,000 statements can be covered or even exceeded. This is the main reason why the Ministry of Finance estimates that there is absolutely no reason to give a new extension.
In 2020, a total of 6,444,479 tax returns were submitted, of which approximately 72,000 returns after the deadline.
According to the official data of AADE, seven out of ten taxpayers do not pay additional tax.
Analytically:
- 6,225,416 tax returns were filed and 8,536,608 tax returns were issued.
- Of these debits were 2,791,362 or 32.7%, to which an additional tax of 2.6 billion euros was charged. The average tax that these taxpayers are required to pay is of the order of 937.6 euros. Last year, respectively, 36.51% of the settlements were debited and the average tax was 1,101 euros.
- Credit was 1,390,392 liquidations or 16.29% and the total amount of the return amounts to 376 million. The average amount returned is 271 euros. Last year, respectively, 12.28% of taxpayers had a credit statement and the average repayment amount was 348 euros.
- Zero was 51.01% of the liquidations, ie 4,354,854, while last year it was `respectively 51.21%.
The deadlines for payment are the folowing:
- By Friday 17 September to pay two installments (July and August).
- The current month’s installment should be paid by the end of September.
- For the following months from October to February 2022 will be paid in one installment to complete the eight provided.
Fines for overdue
Taxpayers who do not manage to file their return on time will be found faced with fines from 100 to 500 euros.
In cases where the overdue declarations will result in zero or credit settlements, they will pay only a fine of 100 euros, while in case of debit settlements the amounts of fines can reach up to 500 euros for certain categories and in addition interest will be imposed on late payments. payment, calculated at 0.73% per month.
Finally, it should be noted that the 3% discount does not apply to the one-time payment of the total tax that will arise. This applied to declarations that would be submitted by the end of August, the date on which the tax would have to be paid.
