Tasos Hatzivasiliou was elected new Vice President of International Democrat Union

Vice President of International Democrat Union (IDU), Deputy Minister of Foreign Minister, Secretary of International Relations unanimously elected ND and MP of Serres, Tasos Hatzivasiliouin the work of IDU Summit in Brussels.

IDU is a world union of 84 -right political parties, coming from 60 countries, sharing common values ​​for freedom and democracy. Indicatively, IDU are actively involved in the German CDU, the US Republican Party, the British Conservative Party and more.

At the IDU value core are the protection of political and personal freedom, equality of opportunities and economic development under the rule of law, according to the ND statement.

ND has been involved in IDU since 1983, when Evangelos Averoff co -signed the founding declaration along with leaders, such as Margaret Thatcher, Jacques Sirak and Glafkos Clerides.

Mr Hadjivasiliou’s election highlights the upgraded role of the New Democracy in the International Fora Center and reinforces the dynamics of the faction to display its positions internationally and to co -ordinate the political dialogue of the center -right internationally, the statement said.
