Supreme Court’s intervention to release the defendants in the Rhodes Town Planning case

The relevant order was reported by the President of the Supreme Court, Ioanna Klapa, to the President of the Three -Member Council of Inspection of Judicial Officers, Asimina Yfantis.

Reportedly, Ms. Klapa is calling for disciplinary control over the Rhodes judicial authorities on the criminal treatment they have reserved for the urban planning circuit.

The decision to release the defendants on restrictive terms was taken by the investigator and the Rhodes Criminal Prosecutor, who considered that the conditions for imposing temporary detention were not met.

The investigator and prosecutor did not find a risk of the defendants, the commitment of new offenses or attempts to conceal the case.
