Support for the US resolution on Gaza by the UN Security Council

According to a statement from the US Permanent Mission in the early hours of Thursday (06.11.2025), the country’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Michael Waltz met with the elected Non-Permanent Members of the Security Council – that is, the ambassadors of Algeria, Denmark, GreeceGuyana, Pakistan, Panama, Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia and Somalia and briefed them on the Trump administration’s resolution on Gaza.

Of particular importance was the presence at the same meeting of Egypt, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, which, as underlined in the announcement, “demonstrates regional support for the resolution submitted to the United Nations Security Council on Gaza.”

The resolution “welcomes the Peace Council and authorizes the International Stabilization Force” provided for in the US President’s 20-day peace plan for Gaza. The plan includes the continuation of humanitarian aid and the “release of all hostages”, paving the way for “a safer and more prosperous Gaza”.

The announcement concludes with an emphasis on the contribution of the US under his leadership Donald Trumpstating that:

“Under his dynamic leadership, the United States will once again achieve results at the United Nations – not endless talks,” while it is emphasized that the parties involved “seize this historic opportunity to end decades of bloodshed and make the US President’s vision of lasting peace in the Middle East a reality.”
