The role of Public Enterprises and the strategy for the future for Sustainable Development, as well as the plans for the transformation of the Superfund into a Public Wealth Fund were analyzed by the heads of the Superfund at a meeting held at the 85th TIF at the exhibition center “Ioannis Vellidis “.

At the beginning of the meeting, the CEO of the Superfund Mr. Grigoris D. Demitriadis stressed that “our will for the decisive role that the Superfund can play, contributing to the strengthening of national wealth and ensuring upgraded services to citizens, Plan 2022-2024, which will be presented in the next period. “Our vision is the transformation of the Superfund into a Public Wealth Fund, which allows the utilization of valuable international experience to maximize the value of public property and at the same time facilitates the attraction of investors”. Mr. Dimitriadis stated, among other things, that: “The goal for even better, modern public enterprises, with profitability and the provision of high quality goods and services is common to all those involved in their operation or supervision. The modernization and the improvement of their operation are within the purposes of the Superfund and our action so far proves it. We are in constant cooperation with the managements of all our subsidiaries for this purpose “.
Public property for use
During the discussion on the Impact of the Utilization of Public Property, the General Manager of IOBE, Mr. Nikos Vetta, and the Managing Director of the Superfund, Mr. Dimitriadis stated that “until recently there was no flexibility and confidence for the utilization of public property. Now, we are very active, with – for the first time – valuing the real estate value of all our companies and participations, to see how we can increase their value and therefore to assess the return they may have.

Mr. Vettas stressed the importance of measurable utilization of public property and referred to the cooperation with the Superfund, emphasizing that “whatever you do not measure, the power of habit makes you ignore it. In order to be able to grow it is important: a) to know what you have, b) how you can measure its value but also c) what is the effect of its value on society. “Measurements made abroad show that countries with good public property management are three to five times more likely to respond quickly after a recession.”
Green Policy
In the section “Opportunities and Tools for the Utilization of Public Property”, the president of KEDE Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, stated that the tools of the HRDH or the NSRF will give a significant boost to the response rates of Local Government bodies. Mr. Dimitris Skalkos, Secretary General of Public Investments and NSRF stated that the priority for the next period will be climate change with de-ligation policies, e-mobility, clean drinking water, sustainable urban mobility, etc. The Managing Director of HRDH, Mr. Dimitris Politis, pointed out that among the priorities are the tenders for Egnatia Odos and DEPA Infrastructure, and that the tenders for the ports of Alexandroupolis, Kavala and Igoumenitsa are in progress, while he stressed that it will be a great opportunity. the new concession of Attiki Odos after 2023.

The presentation of the Project Preparation Facility (PPF) of the Strategic Contracts Maturity Unit was made by the Authorized Consultant of HRDH Mr. Panagiotis Stampoulidis. Water use policy

Finally, he stressed the importance of working with the Superfund to make ESGs more effective. Mr. Spyros Kouvelis, Director of the EPLO Institute for Sustainable Development noted that “water management will be one of the most critical issues in the coming decades due to the climate crisis that leads us to the need for large investments in infrastructure before the forthcoming changes. In this context, it is crucial to take care of the natural ecosystems that provide us with water in a timely manner. “
The future in travel
In the section on Sustainable Mobility, the Deputy CEO of the Superfund, Mr. Stefanos Giourelis, stated that “we focus on e-mobility for the companies’ fleets, electricity and alternative fuels. Particularly important is the support of PPC with its subsidiary PPC blue. ». The CEO of KINEO, Mr. Adam Markakis, pointed out that micro-mobility is the greatest hope we have to face the European goals. He noted that 50% of our travels are under 8km. This means that with a concept of micro-mobility we can meet these needs without compromising the environment and the quality of life in the city.

Dr. George Pechlivanoglou, Chief Technical Officer, BLINK Charging Europe stated that, “At the moment there are 300 charging points for electric cars. The President of TIF HELEXPO Mr. Anastasios Tzikas, opening the day stressed the importance of highlighting sustainability issues and said that in this direction is the development plan of TIF HELEXPO with new facilities and infrastructure.
