OR Nintendo announced that it “brakes” pre -orders for the new Switch 2 due to concerns about the impact of global dictatorial implemented by US President Donald Trump.
Pre -orders for the new device will not start on April 9, as originally scheduled, a Nintendo spokesman said on Friday (04.04.2025), “in order to assess the potential impact of duties and the evolving market conditions”.
According to Bloomberg, Nintendo said it insists on the June 5th release date, when Switch 2 starts selling for $ 450 in the US. The company does not yet have a new date for opening pre -order.
Nintendo based in Kyoto, Japan, presented Switch 2 earlier this week, on the same day that Trump announced global tariffs, including 24% to Japan and 46% to Vietnam, where the company is increasingly transporting its production.
Nintendo’s shares negotiating in the US drop 3.6%.
