Stephan Lanois: “The red card of Nous in OFI – AEK is clear”

THE Stéphane Lanois analyzed three phases from the matches of the 14th season of the Super League and more specifically from OFI – AEKAris – Atromitos and Athens Kallithea – Levadeakos.

Stefan Lanois emphasized that the red card given to Nous of OFI for the hit on AEK’s Odubatzou was correct and that a penalty was correctly awarded to Veleth’s hand in the game at “Vikelidis”

Having raised his elbow in this position the player takes the risk of the ball finding his hand and taking a penalty. We expect a penalty and VAR intervention as it happened”.

For the red card to Nous: “Here the player uses excessive force against his opponent without going for the ball. He deliberately punches his opponent in the chest. We expect a clear red card and VAR intervention as it happened”.

For the penalty in Athens Kallithea – Levadeiakos: “Here the referee wrongly awards a penalty thinking that the goalkeeper committed an offence. The goalkeeper touches the ball with his right hand while falling and the ball changes direction. We are waiting for the intervention of the VAR and non-attribution of the penalty”.
