The course of implementing the financial programs her Hellenic Development Bank (EAT), which exceeded € 1.74 billion, in the first five months of 2025, were presented today (3.6.2025) by Deputy Finance Minister Nikos Papathanassis and EAT administration.
On the occasion of the launch of HDB Academy – a new, modern, digital knowledge platform for small and medium -sized enterprises, EAT Managing Director Ismini Papakirillou and EAT President George Zavvos, according to May 2025, were reported.
As they have pointed out they have already been funded:
- 833 million euros to small and medium -sized enterprises
- EUR 907 million to individuals through “My Home II” programs and “I upgrade my house”
The EAT, through its 10 available financial tools – such as TEPIH III, the microwave fund, the fair growth fund, the Rural Entrepreneurship Fund, the Guarantee Funds and the Delfi – has a total of € 4 billion for favorable funding.
To date, EAT has funded 71,729 loans of € 13.1 billion to 53,500 companies and 18,200 individuals, while 73.4% of funded companies employs up to 10 employees.
During the press conference there was extensive reference to all 8 non -financial tools for the bank to boost entrepreneurship, which is now included by HDB Academy.
HDB Academy is a free digital platform designed to support small and medium -sized enterprises at all stages of their development. Offers:
- Educational content for startup entrepreneurship, innovation, financial management, digital transformation, ESG (environment, society, governance), and extroversion.
- Practical tools, useful guides and ready -made standards, acting as a handy reference for the entrepreneur who seeks to evolve.
- Diagnostic tools, webinars and business index, enhancing decision -making and competitiveness.
Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanassishe stressed that the launch of HDB Academy, this free digital information and education platform for small and medium -sized enterprises, is part of the overall strategy of the government and the Hellenic Development Bank to enhance the competitiveness, productivity of extroversion and innovation. This useful tool comes to add to EAT actions of € 17.6 billion for the benefit of the economy and society, which contribute to the creation of 300,000 jobs, with 73.4% of lending businesses to employ fewer than 10 employees. With plan and determination we accelerate reform interventions with the central aim of increasing the dynamic and added value of the economy, increasing dividend in society, ultimately increasing employment and income for all our fellow citizens, Mr. Papathanassis added.
EAT President George Zavvoshe pointed out that the strengthening of small and medium -sized enterprises goes through access to the knowledge and cultivation of a modern business culture. With HDB Academy, the Hellenic Development Bank is taking a decisive step to offer Greek entrepreneurs not only financial tools but also the necessary cognitive background to progress in an ever -changing environment.
