Spain: After a severe heatwave, strong thunderstorms and floods – “comb” river that dragged two people

Severe weather phenomena ‘hit’ Spain As it is hit by severe storms and floods with two people remaining missing.

Spain, immediately after a suffocating period of extensive heat with temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius, lives in severe weather with strong storms yesterday (12.07.2025), with popular tourist destinations at risk of catastrophes.

“We are looking for two people in the chats,” a community of 17,000 inhabitants, about 50 kilometers from Barceloni, said the Fire Brigade via X after the floods in Spain.

The images and videos transmitted by the media and social media are dramatic and show roads turning into rivers and waters to swallow cars.

Several areas face serious disasters, including Barcelona, Zaragoza, Girona, Tarragona and Kastegion.

Over 100 mm of rain fell in just one hour in the popular Tourist city of Tarazona, Zaragoza.
