Solution by Theodorikakos and Pierrakakis for business insurance housed in pre -seismic regulation buildings

As of June 1, 2025, the application of the law provides for compulsory insurance of business For natural disasters.

However, there was an issue with businesses housed in old buildings, built before 1960, when the implementation of static studies and the anti -seismic regulation in the country had not yet begun. Private insurance companies refuse to insure them, so these entrepreneurs – without their own fault – face fines of up to 20,000 euros, as agents of the relevant ministries point out.

The Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, was asked about this issue today in an interview with ERT, stressing that there will be a solution immediately.

Indeed, shortly thereafter, Mr Theodorikakos contacted the Minister of Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, and agreed that this issue should be addressed, without risking non -responsible businessmen.
