Alarm at Patisia. A snake Lafiatis was found in a school courtyard. It is the largest snake found in Greece.
The snake was specifically found in a General High School in Patisia and was collected by ANIMA.
The incident immediately mobilized the competent authorities and the Association of Wildlife Protection and Care and Care (ANIMA), which undertook the safe removal of the reptile from the school.
The Lafiatis found at the Patissia School is the largest species of snake found in Greece and belongs to the family of the Novels.
It is a non -poisonous reptile in southern Europe, with a special presence in Italy and the Balkans, from Croatia to our country.
According to a post by the ANIMA Association on Facebook, the rescue team proceeded to collect the reptile found in the school complex.
“A Lafiatis was found in the courtyard of General High School in Patisia. We collected him for his own safety, he has a solid wound on the skin but he will go well, “the organization said in the information.
Lafiatis: Greece’s largest snake
The typical length of the Lafiatis is about 150 cm, although in rare cases it can exceed 200 cm.
Adult people are distinguished by their characteristic yellowish brown or black color and the four black lines extending from the neck to their tail.
On the contrary, young people have a different color, usually gray-anatomy with brown or black spots along the back.
