The announcement comes two days after the Israeli army’s statement that it had stopped a rocket and another missile launched by Yemen. The responsibility for these fire was assumed by the Houthi rebels, who are backed by Iran.
Houthis has repeatedly launched rockets and unmanned aircraft against Israel since the war broke out in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, after Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Israel on that day.
Yemen’s rebels, who say they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians, interrupted what their attacks during the two -month truce in Gaza, which ended in March.
However, the attacks began again when the Israeli army resumed its military operations on Palestinian territory.
Although most of the missiles were intercepted, a Houthi rocket arrived in early May for the first time on the perimeter of international airport Ben Gurion, near Tel Aviv.
