Impressive aerial crossings and demonstrations of aerobatic formations “enchanted” young and old shortly after 12:00 noon on the beach of Flisvo in Paleo Faliro, in the context of the celebration of Archangel Michael, its Patron Air Force. The Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias and the leadership of the Armed Forces were present, while a crowd of people had lined up along the coastline to watch the spectacle.
The program culminated with spectacular maneuvers by F-35 of the Italian Air Force, as well as with Greek crossings Rafale of 332 Squadron (114PM). Also in the spotlight were the Single Aircraft Air Demonstration Team F-16 “Zeus” and the corresponding group T-6A “Daedalus”who drew applause with precise figures and low passes over the beach.
The formation of history caused a special emotion Supermarine Spitfire MJ755 with it T-6 Harvardrecalling the tradition and continuity of Greek aviation history. The program was completed by the crossings of civilian aircraft Sky Express and Aegean Airlinesoffering a multi-layered spectacle that combined power, technology and historical memory.
Spectators captured every moment on their cellphones, while waves of applause and cheers accompanied the low passes and coordinated formations. Today’s demonstration confirmed for one more year the strong symbolism of the celebration and the high operational readiness of the Greek PA.
