Summer made a short break, and May reminds … October! The weather is changing in the next few hours, with the scene becoming autumnal: rains, thunderstorms, hailstorms and temperature drop foreshadows the passage of a strong barometric low, according to meteorologist George Tsatrafyllia.
In a posting on social networks, he warns of “thermal thunderstorms and then a barometric low” that brings “mini autumn”, with time deteriorating first today and on Tuesday, especially at warm hours of the day. The phenomena will affect the continents and Crete – with emphasis on the mountains – and may be accompanied by hailstorms.
The temperature will drop 5 to 6 degrees Celsius below normal levels for the season, while the north will reach up to 6 beaufort.

How will the week go
Tuesday – Wednesday – Thursday: Gradual weather stabilization, although volatility will remain limited. The temperature will range up to 24 ° C, while the north will continue to blow strong, reaching up to 6 beaufort.
Friday – Saturday: New wave of deterioration with severe weather events. Low brings extensive rains, sporadic thunderstorms in many areas of the country, and dust transport. At the same time, strong southwests will mainly hit Crete, where mercury will reach up to 30 ° C.
In the rest of the country, maximum temperatures will move between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius.
What does EMY say: Rain, thunderstorms and local phenomena from noon
The National Meteorological Service (NMS) confirms the change, predicting local rains and sporadic storms, especially in central and eastern Macedonia and east of Thessaly, with exacerbation from noon.
In the rest of the country, transient increased clouds are expected with individual phenomena, mainly in the continental mountains and western parts of Crete. From the night, the phenomena will begin to recede.
The temperature will not show significant changes – 22 to 23 ° C in the north, up to 25 ° C on the continents.
