School buses: 65 violations by the Traffic Police with “good morning”


65 were the violations by the Traffic Police in 695 inspections which were carried out, in total, in school buses, the first day of the new school year.

According to ELAS, the violations on the school buses were the following: 35 related to the vehicle tachograph, 12 for not using a seat belt, 2 for worn tires, 1 for lack of a fire extinguisher, 1 for deprivation of a driver’s license and 14 other violations.

Traffic inspections on school buses will continue throughout the school year. At the same time, information leaflets, with tips on road safety and traffic education, were distributed in the morning by police officers to parents and young students, during their arrival in the various school complexes of Attica for the established sanctification ceremony.

This is an initiative of the Hellenic Police Headquarters that aims to inform and raise awareness of parents and students on road safety issues, especially during their travel to and from school complexes.

For this purpose, one of the priorities of the Traffic Services in the area of ​​responsibility of the General Police Directorate of Attica is the implementation of a specific package of measures, which provides, inter alia:

– Facilitating traffic by traffic controllers on highways leading to school complexes.

– The intensification of the controls of the buses that transport students.

– The identification of marking deficiencies in the road environment of the schools and the immediate information of the competent services.
