The Turkish fishing vessels have never passed through the Greek territorial waters, the Port Authority clarifies in terms of the serious incident Greeks and Turks fishermen in the marine area between Thassos and Samothrace.
“The Turkish vessels remained throughout the duration of their operation in international waters and never entered Greek territorial waters,” explains the port in today’s (03.09.2025) announcement of the incident with the fishermen in Samothrace.
In fact, they accompany the bulletin with a map, marking the points where the Greek and Turkish sails were located.
It is noted that the serious incident occurred on the night of yesterday’s day at Maritime area between Thassos and Samothrace between Turkish fishing and Greek fishermen.
It all started when the Greek fishermen attempted to protest their Turkish colleagues that they had come close to the Greek coast between Thassos and Samothraki, with the consequence of even threatening even shooting in the air.

On the occasion of reports on Turkish fishing vessels, in the maritime area between Samothrace and Thassos, according to data from the competent Fisheries Control Division, Turkish vessels remained throughout the duration of their operation in international waters and never entered Greek water.
The data has been derived from the “Integrated Maritime Services” system of the European Fisheries Control Service (EFCA IMS). (Attached a map of the Turkish fishing vessels in the evenings of 2nd-09-2025)
This was confirmed by three LS patrol boats. – ELAKT. (PLS 614, 920s and 1105) who arrived in the area and remained inside EX.
The competent Public Prosecutor’s Office were informed and a preliminary investigation is being carried out.
