In an extensive interview on Sunday’s Step, former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras returned with severe criticism to the government, eight months after his removal from the New Democracy. Mr Samaras is of great concern about the country’s course, referring to a “overthrow” in the foreign policy and the “mutation” of the ND.
The former prime minister described Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ attitude as “arrogant” and “political brave”, as he accuses former prime ministers instead of being concerned. He argued that government policy is “rinsing Turkey internationally” and leading the country to isolation.
Referring to the OPECEPE scandal, Mr Samaras spoke of an “unprecedented insult and inadequacy” in the House, accusing the government of trying to “cook” situations and that it “cancels the institutional smoothness of the transition”.
Maximus’ answer: “18% of 2012”
Government sources responded to Mr Samaras’ statements, describing them as foreign policy as “millennial”. However, the harsh response came to the “mutation” of New Democracy. Sources recalled the electoral rates of the past: “The answer has been given by citizens 3 times with a 40% rates as opposed to 18% under the threat of SYRIZA.”
In this way, the Maximus Palace argued that the people have already clearly approved the course of the party under the current leadership.
