In their statements, the two former Presidents of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Prokopis Pavlopoulos, are placed on the issue of the 2015 Council of Political Council practices, both agreeing that they were not detained by the Presidency Service.
The start was made by a statement by Mrs Sakellaropoulou who was hosted in the newspaper Ta Nea. “I never received the audio of the practices,” he points out, noting: “The minutes of the July 6th meeting were not kept in the secretary general, but in the office of the President of the Republic. I then handed them over to the then Secretary -General to get into the safe, along with the rest, because I thought it was reasonable to keep them all together. These minutes were not accompanied by an audible archive, it is only the written, unsigned text. “
The follow -up was given by Prokopis Pavlopoulos to issue a statement stating that “the minutes of the Council of Political Chiefs of 6.7.2015 were not kept by the Presidency of the Republic, given that it did not have any, as far as I know, and today it has such a service, which is noted.”
As he continues, “as they are now known, these minutes were observed by the competent, specialized and appropriately equipped service of the Hellenic Parliament.
“The abovementioned minutes were transcribed by this service and sent, in a written form, to guard the Presidency of the Republic, without being accompanied by a corresponding audio presumption.
As a matter of fact, I add that I have repeatedly stated that then they were practically observed and transmitted in writing to the Presidency of the Republic, but not accompanied, in any way, by a corresponding audio presumption.
“I add, in order not to make unfounded impressions, that, as well as Ms. Sakellaropoulou, points out, because of the institutional nature of the Council of Political Heads, when and whenever he meets, they are not initiated by the participants.”
