The certification of the General Cancer Hospital «Saint Savvas»By the Organization of European Cancer Institutes by the Organization of the European Oncology Institutes, the Minister of Health has published Adonis Georgiadisby posting in X.
On the occasion of this certification, Mr. Georgiadis commented “so not the NHS does not collapse but progresses and becomes better”.
As this certification explains, “it proves that the hospital responds to the strictest European quality and safety standards. At the same time, it paves the way for further international partnerships, participation in European research networks and, above all, offers patients access to high quality services, equal to those of Europe’s top oncology centers. “

The General Cancer Oncology Hospital “Agios Savvas” successfully completed the accreditation process by the Organization of the European Oncology Institutes (Organization of the European Cancer Institutes).
Oci accreditation is one of the most demanding and recognized quality standards in Europe for cancer centers. It concerns not only the provision of clinical services, but also the holistic treatment of cancer, including research, education, prevention and psychosocial support of patients. The fact that a Greek public hospital – and even “Saint Savvas” – achieved this distinction, is an extremely important achievement for the national health system.
This accusation proves that the hospital responds to the most strict European quality and safety standards. At the same time, it paves the way for further international partnerships, participation in European research networks and, above all, offers patients access to high -level services, equal to those of Europe’s leading oncology centers.
This success would not be possible without the systematic effort of all the Hospital of the Hospital – Medical, Nursing, Administrative and Technical Personnel. It is an example to imitate other health units, demonstrating in practice that excellence can be achieved in the public sector.
It is important to also mention the ministry’s financial support with 2,000,000 through the RIP a support directly linked to the quality of life of patients, the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and the international image of the country’s health system.
I congratulate this enormous success especially Mrs. Olga Balauras as the Governor of “St. Savva” began this process and her successors of the Hospital of the Hospital K. Karandreas and Mr. Fassianos.
