Tragic news from his area volleyball. The 26-year-old Iranian diagonal, Saber Kazemi has been announced brain deadwith the country’s Federation announcing the news and spreading sadness in the field of sport.
Saber Kazemi suffered brain damage from an electric shock in a swimming pool in Qatar, where he was competing. The Iranian volleyball player was transferred from Doha to Tehran, where he was in a rehabilitation center, but the treatment did not work.
He has won the gold medal twice in the Asian Games and another time the gold in the Asian championship. The Iranian had played for teams in Iran, Qatar, Kuwait and Turkey.
The athlete remains on mechanical support, with his family waiting the next few days before deciding whether to disconnect or donate organs.
