Despite the medical team’s relentless efforts to restore his brain function, he eventually suffered brain death and passed away this morning. Saber Kazemi was going to play this season with Qatar’s Al Rayyan team. On October 16, he suffered a stroke while recuperating in a swimming pool and was rushed to hospital. On October 27, with the help of the Iranian Volleyball Federation and his medical team, he was flown from Doha to Tehran, but unfortunately, resuscitation efforts were in vain.
