Pilot test of one robot A In real conditions, the Olympia Road with the aim of maintaining road infrastructure. This system will undertake critical maintenance work on the highway such as cracking, pothoole repair and renewal of draco and support other work that usually requires human presence.
The robot that business on Olympia Road has high precision sensors, cameras and sophisticated algorithms. With the help of drones, it is capable of doing visual pavement checks, detecting problematic areas and correcting them, while also supporting traffic management functions, such as installation or removal of security cones.
The use of such technologies offers decisive advantages: Enhance security for employees On the road and the users of the highway, Reduction resulting from the presence of people within or near traffic, restriction of traffic regulations and Holidays due to maintenance workas well as Faster repair of lesions.

As part of its participation in the four -year European research project Heron, Olympia Odos hosted the pioneering robotic system in the summer.
The Heron project brings together partners from various European countries, with the aim of exploring and evaluating how robotics and Ae can be safely and efficiently applied to transport infrastructure.

For Olympia Road, this test marks a clear commitment to innovation and upgrading maintenance work with the ultimate goal of providing high quality services, with the main focus on drivers and workers’ safety.
The system was developed in the context of the European research project Heron, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program.
