In public consultation today (3.6.2025) the bill to promote biomethane production and market organization hydrogen by the Ministry of Environment and Energy (RIS).
As the RIS notes, the draft law formulates the institutional framework for the production and participation of biomethane and renewable hydrogen and low carbonated hydrogen and hydrogen in the country’s energy mix, to achieve the relevant goals included in the National Plan for Energy and Energy Plan.
Adds that with the settings included in the bill:
- It is first established for the first time a coherent licensing framework, providing complete transparency and confidence to investors, filling it to date legislative and regulatory gap.
- The possibility of connecting these units to the ESFA is regulated. or distribution networks, or geographically limited hydrogen networks, in the most economical way, aiming at “greening” natural gas infrastructure and on the other hand in geographically restricted commercial and industrial areas.
- The responsibilities of public bodies and authorities involved in the licensing and supervision of hydrogen and biomethane production units are clearly determined.
The consultation will run until Monday, June 16, 2025.
