The situation in the Middle East remains unsettled with reports cited by Reuters claiming that Israeli tanks are located near the capital of Syria, Damascus.
Reuters, citing three security sources, said the Israelis are attempting to invade Syria and are moving southwest of Damascus after Israel captured a buffer zone in southern Syria and launched airstrikes on the Syrian army and air bases overnight.
According to reports, Israeli troops have reached Qatana, which is six miles inside Syrian territory east of a demilitarized zone that separates the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights from Syria.
The IDF denied these claims to Sky News.
Two Syrian security sources told Reuters that Israeli planes bombed at least three major Syrian army bases housing dozens of helicopters and jets in the biggest wave of such attacks on air bases since the ouster of Bashar al-Assad.
