Under him coordination of the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center (SRC) a search and rescue operation was carried out 57 foreigners on board a boat, in the sea area 11 nautical miles southwest of Ierapetra.
The rescued were safely picked up by his lifeboat Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard (L.S. EL.AKT.) and were transferred to the port of Ierapetra, where it is expected that they will be provided with medical care and the necessary means of support.
