Reports for incident with missiles on a ship in the Red Sea

Navigation Security Services stressed on Sunday night (31/08/2025) that they received reports of an incident in ship marked southwest of the city-Limani Yanbo in Red Sea of Saudi Arabia.

The ship reported “a splash nearby from an unknown projectile origin and heard a strong click,” the UKMTO (United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations) said, adding that crew members were safe and the ship continued its next trip to the Red Sea.

Shortly after UKMTO’s report, the British Naval Security Service, Ambrey also said it was aware of an event 37.5 nautical miles southwest of Yanbo.

Both companies did not name who is responsible for the incident, with UKMTO stressing that authorities are conducting investigation.
Yanbo is a Limani city located on the west coast of the Saudi Arabia.

By 2023, Yemen’s Houthis have been attacking ships in the Red Sea, which they consider to be linked to Israel, with the rebels stressing that their actions are made to solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
