The rent allowance of 250 euros mainly concerns vulnerable social groups, such as low -incomepeople with disabilities and uninsured elders, who stay in a rental housing.
This allowance, on a permanent basis, is linked to the return of a rent of each November, as the government has announced. The rent allowance aims to cover part of the rent costs. Low pensioners, people with disabilities and uninsured elders will receive any financial aid of 250 euros outside their pension.
“Each November will receive 250 euros net, beyond pension and any other allowance they are entitled to,” the prime minister had said.
Who is entitled to the 250 euro allowance
The 250 euro allowance will now be given on a permanent basis to low -income pensioners, people with disabilities and uninsured elderly, with income and property criteria. Specifically, each year, by November 30, 250 euros will be paid to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries and this money will be tax -free and irreversible.
Beneficiaries are:
- Insured in E-EFKA over 65 years of age, with family incomes for unmarried 14,000 euros and up to 200,000 euros total real estate value and 26,000 euros for married property with a total of 300,000 euros. The support allowance concerns 1,157,551 people.
- Elderly retirees, amounting to 34,357 people.
- People with disabilities, who number 248,823. For beneficiaries of disabled allowance there are no income and property criteria.
If both beneficiaries are both, they both receive it. The financial support is tax -free, unexplained and irrevocable, in the hands of the State or third parties, by way of derogation from any other opposite provision, it is not bound and is not offset by confirmed debts to the tax administration and the State.
