In her first statement following the acquittal of the Three -Member Court of Appeal Court of Appeals for the National Tragedy in EyeRena Dourou stressed that respect for the memory of the 104 victims allows no celebration for a judicial victory. He expressed her complete understanding of the pain and anger of relatives, who, he said, are rightly looking for responsibility to the highest political scales.

In her position, she made a serious complaint, stating that not only was there no concealment on her part, but that she was a victim of “the worst kind of concealment that is misleading”. He claimed that he became accused based on a lie, that the fire department had allegedly ordered to remove citizens, which was not the case.
According to her, her targeting was political incentive in order to tarnish the work done during her term in the Attica Region.
In closing, Rena Dourou stressed that for seven years she endured the judicial proceedings without invoking political prosecution, and called on those who have accused her in the past, instead of an “apology” to show the same attitude and not hide behind parliamentary immunities when they were involved.

On such a scale tragedy, the minimum respect for the memory of the victims and the pain of their relatives does not even allow joy. No one can celebrate for judicial justification when the state mechanism has not been able to prevent the loss of our fellow humans. I fully feel the relatives of the victims that their suffering, sadness and anger make them consider everyone to be guilty, and especially as tallest as possible political figures as possible.
Today’s acquittal of the Three -Member Court of Appeals comes to the decision of the Disciplinary Council, consisting of the President of the Court of Appeals and two appeals and the unanimous, with the consent of the prosecutor, the court of court, the court of the court, while the Court of First Instance, (as evidenced by the minutes), I was completely eliminated by any responsibility for the tragedy in the eye.

The love, support and support of all those, the many, who stood with my legal supporters next to me all these years, is not the right of a thank you but a promise. The promise that all the blows, wherever they came, gave me the power to continue our common struggle for justice everywhere.
